Elective Prizes
The students who submitted the best detailed reports will be invited to give a presentation at the Electives Evening on 25 September 2013 (see previous Electives evening).

  • Longer Report (optional, but strongly encouraged as you can win a cash prize)
  • Content: Your elective experience enables you to develop your own knowledge and skills in clinical medicine, through active participation in tutorials and bedside teaching and gaining an understanding of disease processes in the area of your Elective subject, and appreciate the influence of social and cultural factors in health and illness in a different environment which may influence your potential future career. Word count: 2500, Arial 11
  • Layout: The bulk of the report should be about your clinical experience on your elective and may be in diary or blog form and can include multi-media/slide show/powerpoint/film clips/photographs, etc. You may write a very short final piece about your holiday (1-2 pages with a couple of photographs). [Note: please ask permission if taking photographs of patients].
  • Deadline: To be emailed to feo.electives by 9 am, 2 July 2013
  • Presentation: Six of the best reports will be chosen to be presented at the next Electives Evening and will be awarded cash prizes of up to £500.
