Approval for your plan will depend upon evidence that you have undertaken proper planning and are are aware of the risks involved have performed a risk assessment. This is to ensure compliance with the College's Offsite Working Policy. If you are proposing a split elective, you must make a formal request before it can be authorised. This includes information about notifying Embassies of your travel arrangements and also a list of other useful tips for when you travel. The requirement to undertake risk assessments for projects is also now included. Discuss your elective plans with your personal tutor The approval form must be signed by him/her, and then given to the FEO (St Mary's) together with an acceptance letter from your hosting institution, at least four months prior to the start of the elective, for final approval by the Elective Coordinator or Deputies. Students failing to provide the necessary forms in time may lose the right to go abroad. If confirmation letters are unavailable or plans have fallen through this must be notified to the FEO by the two-month limit. |
