Central Middlesex

Report to Juliette Thompson (teaching coordinator) at 8.30 am. Useful information [pdf]

Charing Cross

Report to 11 East seminar room at 9 am on Monday. Useful information [Word]

Chelsea and Westminster

Report to ICU 5th floor at 8 am. After the ward round please see Lou De Palo (teaching coordinator) in the undergraduate medicine office on lower ground floor liftbank C, for lockers and swipe cards, for which a £20 deposit is required. You should then return to ICU and the registrars will divide you up into groups to see patients, bedside nurse-led activity, health technology training and to discuss your timetable. Arrange to meet the Consultant on call to plan teaching times.
Please bleep Dr Suveer Singh on 5922 or ext 58472 to arrange a time to meet him and discuss learning objectives/opportunities.
The ICU administrator Jason Tatlock or ICU office staff will have the Chelwest specific timetables, and reading material for your attachment in case of need.

Ealing

Report to Narinder Virdee (teaching coordinator, 020 8967 5704) at 9 am in the Postgraduate Centre, Level 3. There is no free accommodation or parking.  Locker keys are available; £20 cheque deposit is required.

Hammersmith

Report to General Intensive Care Unit, 2nd Floor, West London Renal Centre at 8 am

Harefield

Report at 9 am to the main reception and ask them to contact Caroline Jones in the anaesthetics department. If you require accommodation please complete the Accommodation request form [Word] and sign the Tenants' Code of behaviour form [Word]. Both forms should be completed and emailed to Ayesha Tariq at least a week before your attachment.
You can use the Royal Brompton-Harefield shuttle service if you require assistance in getting to Harefield campus and back. If you wish to use this service you will need to present your Imperial ID and arrive before the scheduled departure times
.
The bus leaves from the main entrance of the RBH Sydney Street wing as follows:

For those who may not wish to use this service there are two train stations that you can use: Uxbridge and Northwood. From Uxbridge station you can take bus 331 to Harefield High Street and/or bus U1 which will take you directly to Harefield Hospital. Bus 331 is also available from Northwood station. Free parking is also available, please arrange by emailing Lisa Jenkins or phoning 01895 828503.

Hillingdon

Report at 9 am to Stefan Krok-Paszkowski, undergraduate manager, in the education centre opposite the hospital main entrance on the undergraduate corridor, 2nd floor of the Education Building. If you think you might be late text/call 07815 707 344.

Northwick Park

Report at 9.30 am to Anup Jethwa (TCO) Undergraduate Dept, Medical Education Centre (Level 6U) NP. You will receive copies of the timetable on arrival. £20 cash deposit required for lockers. Useful information [pdf]

Royal Brompton

Report to the Adult Intensive Care Unit, level 3, Sydney Street Building, of Royal Brompton Hospital, Sydney Street at 9.30 am.
  • Students allocated to the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals for this clinical attachment must have an MSRA swab test before commencing their attachment. This must be done before your attachment or on your first day.
  • Students allocated to Royal Brompton can have the tests done at the Brompton Trust Occupational Health Department, at the Old Fire Station, South Block, (just after the entrance to the Nurses’ Home in the South Block), Dovehouse Street, 020 7351 8902.

Royal Marsden

Report to the Critical Care Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital (Chelsea site) at 9 am on the first day. Directions - programme [to be confirmed]

St Mary’s

Report to the FEO, ground floor of the Medical School at 8.30 am for locker keys and swipe cards. £20 CASH deposit required for a locker. At 9 am report to the Adult Intensive Care Unit on the 9th floor of the QEQM building. Useful information [pdf]

St Peter’s

Report to Annette Stanley at 9.45 am in the Education Centre (PGEC). Induction will take place at 10 am. Read information sheet and contact Annette on 01932 723730 or Darren Pirson on 01932 723621 if you need further information.

West Middlesex

Report to Intensive Care, 1st floor at 9 am.
