Initial observations
General
Considerations:
- Introduce yourself
and ask for permission to examine the arms.
- Ask patient
if they have any pain.
- Expose patient
adequately, preserving dignity.
- Note the posture
at rest.
- Note the posture
with arms outstretched.
- Inspect for
involuntary movements and muscle fasciculation.
- Inspect for
muscle symmetry and wasting.
