Faculty Education Office

Reporting concerns

The FEO welcomes feedback and we encourage you to report concerns about any aspect of your course or the service that we provide to you. You can do this informally in a number of ways, including at student counters, by email or over the telephone. Any feedback we receive in this way will be used as part of our continual improvement process.

If you wish to formally report a concern, you should do so in writing. You can do this as an individual or acting on behalf of a group of students. The letter should be addressed to your Head of Year and sent to feo.u2us.  If the concern relates to your Head of Year, please address your email to the Faculty Education Officer, Ms Susan English.

We will acknowledge receipt of your letter within 48 hours and an investigation will be conducted. We undertake to do this in a way that is sensitive and (wherever possible) protects your anonymity. It may be that the Head of Year or one of the Medical School Managers will need to contact you for further information as part of the investigation process.

A formal response to your concern will be sent to you as quickly as possible, and in any event before 14 calendar days have elapsed. This may not be the final response, depending on the level of investigation required, in which case we will provide a timescale for completion.

This process is intended to supplement (and not to replace) Imperial’s Procedure for Dealing with Complaints by Students. If you wish to make a complaint, you may seek advice from the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager, Chris Harris.
