Students are aware that
attendance at the GP CMT course is compulsory. Persistent non-attendance
will result in an investigation and interview with the Head of Year
3.
WHAT TO DO
If students don’t
turn up
Telephone the firm leader or teaching coordinator at the local hospital.
If there is no immediate explanation, contact the FEO (020 7594 0780)
who will attempt to find out what has happened. Send in a claim for
this session as usual explaining the students did not turn up. Ask the
Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator at your local hospital to arrange
for the students to write a written apology to yourself and the patient.
If a student repeatedly misses sessions contact the Head of Year 3.
If patients don’t
turn up
Look in the History taking and psychological medicine pages, which have
suggestions of how to run sessions without a patient.
If there is a
practice or personal emergency and you can not teach a session?
If possible arrange a substitute, either with another local CMT teacher,
or through your local Academic Facilitator. If you need to cancel a
session completely, please contact your local undergraduate teaching
coordinator, so a message can be relayed to the students.
