The Sankofa Center

American arts-based HIV/AIDS education, prevention,  testing, and treatment internship programme working in Ghana, West Africa under the National AIDS Control Programme.

The programme merges culturally appropriate methods of reaching local populations, such as traditional artistic expression, with modern medical HIV education, testing, and treatment. Participants may gain clinical experience in a variety of medical specialities with a network of partnering hospitals and clinics so all are encouraged to apply for their medical attachment.
